Mrs. Audrey Spielman
MMiddle School Counselor, Director of School Counseling
Ms. Jessica Brousseau
High School Counselor, A-L
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! My name is Jessica Brousseau, and I am one of the Wamogo Regional High School Counselors. This is my second year at Wamogo, and I am very excited to continue my professional journey with the students, parents, and staff here!
I graduated from the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford in the Spring of 2016 with a Master of Arts degree in School Counseling, after successfully completing my internship year at Maloney High School in Meriden. Prior to my master's program, I was a life-long resident of Saint Augustine, Florida, where I graduated from Flagler College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
In my spare time I love to read, hike, play the guitar, enjoy my favorite Netflix programs, play with my cats Willow and Olive, and watch the Jacksonville Jaguars during football season (I know they're pretty bad, but, "lifelong resident of Florida," remember?).
One exciting thing I did during summer vacation was to act as Assistant Director of Easter Seals Camp Hemlocks in Hebron, a summer camp for children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities. I was able to watch these strong and motivated individuals do things that seemed physically impossible, like hike, kayak, and climb rock walls. It was a very powerful experience, and I am so lucky to have had the chance to be a part of it.

Mrs. Sandra Miguez-Fernandes
High School Counselor, M-Z
Hello! My name is Sandra Fernandes. I am the school counselor for students M-Z here at Wamogo Regional High School. I graduated from Teikyo Post University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. I continued my education at Central Connecticut State University, earning my Master of Science degree in School Counseling and am a National Certified Counselor (K-12). I am a proud member of the American School Counselor Association as well as the Connecticut School Counselor Association. My previous work experience consists of working at Post University (formerly Teikyo Post University), Chase Collegiate School, Saint Paul Catholic High School, and now I am thrilled to be working at Wamogo.
On a personal note, I have two young children a daughter, age 8 and a son, age 11. My husband and I are high school sweethearts and have been together for 26 years! Crazy, I know. We also have a Minuet cat, Clover (she just turned 1 in August) and a Miniature Schnauzer, Bear (he is only 4 months old). I enjoy biking, love water rides, and working out. I’m a pretty good baker but sadly cannot say the same for my cooking although I rock Thanksgiving dinner (go figure). Ironically, I graduated from W. F. Kaynor Technical High School (eons ago) where I learned how to create and construct (sew) garments and accessories. I probably should have taken the culinary track. One of my all-time favorite movies is Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
As a school counselor I help students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development and career development, assisting today's students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow. Please feel free to contact me and I look forward to working with your family!

This year marks my 15th year at Wamogo and 22nd year working in a high school environment. I served seven years as the Principal’s assistant /Special Education assistant at Litchfield High School prior to joining the Counseling staff at Wamogo. An NCCC ECE graduate, I taught Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 year old students at Little Brick School in Litchfield for 10 years before moving to LHS.
Working with students no matter what age they are and attending to their needs is my calling in life. In addition, I am the mom of two adult children and the Nana of 7 wonderful grandchildren aged 2 -13. They are my life. In my free time, I keep busy exercising and practicing yoga, visiting with friends and family and taking day trips or vacations with my husband of 40 years. I enjoy art and paint in oils, my hope is to be able to eventually devote more time to my artwork.
Many years have passed quickly at Wamogo and many new changes have occurred along the way. I’ve gone from copying piles of college applications during my Holiday break to the use of Naviance; click, click, and submit! Then there’s the email and Twitter…. You know what I mean!
Please stop by and visit our office any time or call with any question you have; our staff welcomes you. :)
